We are now seeking to appoint an Impact Engagement Officer who will support the capture and communication of the outstanding impact arising from our world-leading healthcare and biosciences research. The post is full time for a fixed term of one year.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic champion of research impact, with a relevant scientific background and exceptional written and oral communication skills. You will have a good understanding of the wide range and forms of impacts that can arise from healthcare and biosciences research. You will work with QMUL’s Web Support Team to develop and maintain online resources that will support the understanding, delivery and communication of impact across QMUL’s academic community.  You will also support the selection and creation of impact case studies for the next Research Excellence Framework (REF).

Reporting to the Research Impact Manager, you will be based in an established Business & Partnerships Team (part of QMUL’s Research Services Directorate).  You will work closely with the academic leads for research and impact as well as QMUL’s academic researchers in healthcare and biosciences, based in our Faculty of Science & Engineering and the Faculty of Health.

You will have relevant professional or academic work experience, gained, for example, through writing scientific and marketing communications, or supporting impact generation. Experience of delivering effective website communications is essential, alongside a creative and proactive approach.

Salary will be £36,064 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
